The Mediterranean Sea is to the south; the Aegean Sea to the west; and the Black Sea to the north. The Sea of Marmara, the Bosphorus and the Dardanelles (which together form the Turkish Straits) demarcate the boundary between Thrace and Anatolia; they also separate Europe and Asia. Turkey's location at the crossroads of Europe and Asia makes it a country of significant importance.

Food
Turkish food is among the best in the world and is sometimes ranked alongside French and Chinese as one of the world's three great cuisines.
The breakfast is usually in a separate dining area of the hotel, and is usually an extended continental breakfast, so it will include tea, coffee, breads, cereals, fruit, etc.
Lunches and dinners often consist of fried vegetables such as eggplant (aubergine) and peppers or potatoes served with yogurt and tomato sauce. Meneman and cilbir are typical summer dishes, based on eggs.
